The history of a software development company in Cyprus
ZingZee is a software development company in Limassol, Cyprus. It began inside a villa rental operator in Paphos and grew into a firm that rebuilds operations for clients across sectors.

Company origins
ZingZee began inside a villa rental operator in Paphos, the founders' own business, where the problem that later defined the company first appeared in daily operations. At its peak the operator ran 70 villas with a staff of 58, and its software estate had not kept pace with its growth.
ZingZee was founded in 2024, in Limassol, Cyprus, by Oakley Openshaw and Guy Bullerwell, to solve that specific problem: an operator with bookings and guests to manage, running on software that could not keep up. The company that exists today, with its own delivery team and partner engineers, grew directly out of that first assignment.
Before ZingZee took on any other client, it had lived through the consequences of software built without reference to how a business runs. That experience set the starting point for every engagement the company delivers now.

More than thirty systems, one business
By the time the scale of the problem was clear, the operator was running more than 30 separate pieces of software across its villas, added one at a time as each new need appeared. None of the systems shared data with any other.
Checking whether a villa was free for a given week meant a manual search across several systems every time a booking came in. Adding a villa to the portfolio meant a full day of re-keying the same information into each tool. The cost of running this software estate had climbed past EUR 250,000 a year, spent on licences that still left staff doing the coordination work by hand.
The operator had more systems than most businesses of its size, and staff still checked villa availability by hand before answering a guest. Closing the gap between the software bought and the manual work still required became the starting brief for ZingZee's first engagement.

Milestones
The story in dates
- 2024ZingZee is founded in Limassol, Cyprus, by Oakley Openshaw and Guy Bullerwell.
- 2025ZingZee takes on its first clients outside the founders' own business, and the rebuild of that business begins.
- Early 2026The first AI systems go into daily use: a reservations assistant answers guest enquiries around the clock, and an AI invoice inbox reads and codes every supplier invoice.
- 16 July 2026The new platform goes live, and the old stack of more than 30 disconnected systems is switched off the same day.
- August 2026The accounting platform becomes the business's book of record, and a backlog of 5,000 invoices is cleared in four days.
- TodayThe villa operator runs more than 450 villas on one platform with a staff of 22, and other Cyprus businesses have asked ZingZee for the same rebuild.

One platform for the whole operation
ZingZee's response was one custom platform, built around how the operator took bookings, managed villas and communicated with guests, with AI built into the base of the system from the outset.
Early in 2026, the first AI systems went into daily use inside that platform: a reservations assistant that answers guest enquiries around the clock, and an AI invoice inbox that reads and codes every supplier invoice as it arrives. The rebuild reached cutover on 16 July 2026, the day the new platform went live and the old stack of more than 30 disconnected systems was switched off.
The two systems did not run side by side while staff learned the new one: the cutover happened in a single day, so the platform had to work in full from the first booking onward. That approach, building the whole system before asking a business to depend on it, is the pattern ZingZee still follows with every client.
Results after eight months
Eight months after cutover, the operator runs more than 450 villas, more than six times the number it managed at its previous peak, with a staff of 22, down from 58. Two reservations agents now handle enquiries that once needed a much larger team working manual searches across disconnected tools.
The annual software bill fell from more than EUR 250,000 to about EUR 2,400. In August 2026, the accounting side of the platform became the business's book of record, and a backlog of 5,000 outstanding invoices was cleared in four days, work that would previously have taken weeks.
The result came from replacing more than 30 systems with one, and giving that system enough capability to do work that used to need a person. Other businesses in Cyprus saw the outcome and asked ZingZee to deliver the same for them, and that demand is why ZingZee exists as a company today.
How the experience shapes client engagements
Having operated a business through exactly that kind of software failure changed how ZingZee approaches every engagement since. The company does not open with a menu of technology and look for a business to sell it to. It starts by mapping how a business runs today, the same way it once mapped its own booking process, villa list and invoice pile, before deciding what to build.
Each engagement now runs through five phases that came out of that habit: strategic assessment, AI roadmap, integration and deployment, adoption and enablement, and governance, optimisation and scale. Every phase exists because ZingZee once needed it and had not laid it out in advance.
The same discipline applies to ownership. Every system ZingZee builds ships with its types, its tests and its documentation, and the client owns the code and the data throughout, so a rebuilt business is never again locked into software it cannot control. Work runs in the client's own hours, delivered by its own delivery team and partner engineers, because that is how the original rebuild had to happen too, around a business that could not pause for a supplier's schedule.

The three principles behind every engagement
- 01Commercial outcomes firstEvery deployment is measured against a commercial outcome agreed in advance: response time, administrative load, conversion or cost. A system that looks impressive yet does not move that figure has not done its job. These are the same measures ZingZee used to judge its own rebuild, and they remain the standard for every client that follows.
- 02Systems built around the operationAnalysts map how the business runs today, including the exceptions staff handle by hand, and the system is designed to fit that process and its constraints, with the worst-case record tested first. The original platform was built the same way: around the operator's business as it ran, with its exceptions and constraints designed into the system from the outset.
- 03Ownership and accountabilityRules, escalation points and responsibility for each KPI are agreed before go-live, so everyone, ZingZee included, knows what the system is accountable for once it is live. That clarity is what let a much smaller team take on far more work without losing control of it.
What ZingZee is today
ZingZee is a software development company in Limassol, Cyprus, with its own delivery team and partner engineers. Its clients are based in Cyprus and beyond, with case studies covering businesses in the United Kingdom, the Middle East and Japan. The company builds custom platforms, AI systems and automation for the parts of a business that used to run on spreadsheets, email and a person's memory: booking and operations platforms, accounting automation, warehouse and SAP tools, CRM and sales tooling, and web platforms.
The pattern set at the founders' own business has repeated since, across different industries and countries. An insurance broker cut its policy checks from about an hour to five minutes and now saves more than EUR 150,000 a year. A photovoltaic installer runs five system installations a month through one platform where paperwork once slowed the pace. A car importer moves from the start of an auction to its bid ceiling in eight seconds.
Each of these businesses had a different problem from the original villa operator, but each shared the same shape of problem: operations that had outgrown the software meant to support them. Closing that gap is ZingZee's work in every engagement.

What a first conversation looks like
A first conversation with ZingZee starts the way the original rebuild did: by establishing how the business runs now. That is the substance of the strategic assessment phase, the first of ZingZee's five phases, where the current process, its bottlenecks and its constraints are mapped before any system is proposed.
From there, the AI roadmap phase sets out what to build and in what order, followed by integration and deployment, where the platform is built and connected to the systems the business already depends on. Adoption and enablement covers the period where staff move onto the new system, and governance, optimisation and scale is where rules, escalation points and KPI ownership are defined, the same discipline that took the villa operator from 58 staff managing 70 villas to 22 staff managing more than 450.
Every engagement ends with the client owning its own code, typed, tested and documented, so the client can run and extend the system without ZingZee from that point. ZingZee learned that discipline by rebuilding its own business first, and every client receives it from the first conversation onward.
